This 5-days escorted tour will make you discover some of the gems of southern Italy. You will be able to comfortably depart from Rome and visit the wonderful Naples, the famous Pompeii and its ruins, the glamorous Sorrento, the unique Capri, Positano and the Amalfi Coast, just in 5 days!
Day 1: Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento
Departure from Rome to Naples by coach with a multilingual tour leader. Upon arrival in Naples a local guide will take you for a walking tour around the old town to admire the Piazza del Plebiscito, the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I, and the San Carlo Opera House.
Continuing on to Pompeii, you will be treated to a short visit to a coral and cameo factory. Afterward, visit the excavations of this ancient Roman city destroyed during the eruption of Mount Vesuvio in 79 B.C. and buried under various meters of ash and stones!
From there proceed to Sorrento, passing along the world-famous Amalfi Coast, with breathtaking views over the small, traditional villages of the coast. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento
After an American buffet breakfast at the hotel in Sorrento, depart with your group towards Capri Island. You will board the ferry and you will arrive at Marina Grande, where your tour will begin.
You will be able to visit the wonderful Blue Grotto (weather and sea conditions permitting), the Augustus Gardens, and the beautiful Piazzetta. You will also visit Anacapri.
After lunch, you will board the ferry and sail back to Sorrento. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Sorrento - Positano
After breakfast, at the hotel in Sorrento, you will start your journey towards the beautiful Positano.
You will enjoy a wonderful landscape via the breathtaking Amalfi Coast drive and you will get to Positano, where you will have free time to explore and discover the city on your own. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
Please note that assistance in Positano will NOT be provided.
Day 4: Positano
After breakfast at the hotel in Positano, you will have free time to discover the beauty of this wonderful coastal village at your leisure.
During this free day, we suggest you visit the incredible villages of Amalfi and Ravello (contact us for a personalized quotation!) or you can just relax in the water of the Mediterranean Sea. Dinner at leisure and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Positano - Rome
After breakfast at the hotel in Positano, join the morning at your leisure.
In the afternoon, you will take a transfer to Pompeii where you will join a group for your trip back to Rome.
