We will come to pick you up from your central Rome hotel. Once in Naples, an expert local guide will lead you on a walking tour of the city's center and historical heart. Marvel at the Royal Palace, the Gallery of Umberto I, the Piazza del Plebiscito, the San Carlo Opera House, and several breathtaking churches. Listen closely as your guide recounts the history of Naples and reveals its secrets.
Next, pause en route to Pompeii at a coral and cameo factory, an interesting stop which has some great souvenirs. After a delicious lunch in a typical Italian restaurant, continue on to the village of Pompeii, buried underneath ash and lava in 79 B.C.E. by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. Witness the extensive archaeological excavations taking place and glimpse the ancient treasures unearthed from the ash.
Back on the bus, admire sensational views and quaint fishing villages as you drive along the Amalfi Coast. Eat dinner and stay the night in a comfortable hotel in Amalfi, resting up for the next day of adventures.
