4-Days guided Tour from Rome to Tuscany and Cinque Terre

Depart from Rome to discover two beautiful Italian regions: Tuscany and Liguria! Enjoy the landscapes of the Chianti area and the Cinque Terre, both famous throughout the world for their uniqueness!

Day 1: Rome - Pisa - Lucca - La Spezia

This 4-day escorted tour will leave from Rome in the morning. Reach indipendently the standard meeting point and onboard the bus, start your journey to the first stop: Pisa. Once there, your tour leader will guide you in the city center for a walk in the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, admiring from the outside the famous LeaningTower of Pisa and the Baptistery. Enjoy your free time to discover the city on your own and have lunch in a local restaurant (lunch NOT included).
On the route, you will stop in the beautiful Lucca, where you can take a stroll through the medieval streets and the main attractions such as Piazza Anfiteatro or the Cathedral of San Martino.
Then you will leave for La Speziadinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: La Spezia - Cinque Terre - Siena area

Start the day with an excellent breakfast in your hotel in La Spezia! Continue with a boat and train trip (weather conditions permitting; only by train in case of bad weather conditions) along the beautiful coast of the Ligurian area known as Cinque Terre.
You will discover one of the most colorful areas in the world and enjoy the wonderful landscapes and the view of the small towns overlooking the sea, in a land surrounded by hills and ancient vineyards. During the tour, you will discover the incredible Portovenere and the Golfo dei Poeti. Afterwards, you will go to the beautiful Vernazza, a small fishing village, surrounded by olive trees and breathtaking landscapes. Finally, explore the beautiful Monterosso and its fantastic beaches. You will have free time to discover this area on your own and also have lunch in a typical restaurant (lunch NOT included).
At the end of the visit, you will board the train that will take you to La Spezia, where a coach will be waiting to take you to Siena area. Check-in at a hotel: dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Siena area - Chianti area - San Gimignano - Siena area

After breakfast, depart to discover the wonderful Chianti area, which has always been considered the heart of Tuscany, famous all over the world for its renowned wines. Join your free time at leisure in Giaole in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and Greve in Chianti: have lunch in a local restaurant (lunch NOT included).
Before continuing by bus to San Gimignano, renowned for its ancient medieval historic centre, its very high and characteristic towers and located on a hill, you will have a stop to appreciate the gastronomic local culture with a wine tasting. Upon arrival in San Gimignano, enjoy your free time to visit the old town centre of this medieval town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. At last, but not at least, a second wine tasting will be the best way to end the day.
Return to the hotel in Siena area: dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Siena area - Siena - Montepulciano - Rome

After breakfast, the first stop will be Siena, where an expert local guide will take you to visit the city center. You can stroll through the beautiful, characteristic medieval streets, admire the beautiful buildings and the famous Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio is held.
Then you will head to Montepulciano, located in the stunning Val d'Orcia area. In Montepulciano, you can stroll through the streets of the splendid Renaissance village, famous also for the production of the "Nobile di Montepulciano" wine, one of the oldest in Italy. In fact, you will have the chance to taste this local wine.
In the afternoon the tour will depart for Rome, where you will arrive in the evening.

A fantastic way to see more than the usual big destinations of Italy.

Easy pace and just the right amount of information. Plenty more to be discovered if you wanted more detail. Family run wineries, good hotels and great towns. Well worth you spend and precious touring time.
