Day 1: Rome - Orvieto - Montepulciano - Siena area
Depart from Rome and discover Orvieto, a village in Umbria region built on a tuff cliff. Then proceed to Montepulciano, where you will have free time for lunch (NOT included) the possibility to see the Piazza Grande, Fortezza, and the Church of Saint Maria dei Servi. Taste "Nobile" wine, one of the finest wines in Tuscany.
Arrive at the hotel in Siena area to check-in, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Siena area - Siena - Bologna - Mestre*
After breakfast at the hotel, stop for a guided tour of Siena, a medieval city built around Piazza del Campo, famous all over the world for its architectural beauty and unique "shell" shape.
Then depart to discover Bologna! Here you will have time at leisure to visit the symbols of this beautiful city (like the impressive Piazza Maggiore and the Asinelli and Garisenda Towers) and enjoy an Italian lunch (NOT included) in a typical restaurant.
In the afternoon, depart for Mestre and check-in, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Mestre - Venice - Mestre*
After breakfast, reach the Island of Venice. Follow your guide on a walking tour of the city's most famous monuments: Saint Mark's Square and the Basilica of Saint Mark, Doge's Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs.
Later travel on the famous Venetian lagoon to the beautiful Murano Island, where you will visit a famous glassworks and admire the glassmaking.
Then return back to St. Mark's square in Venice for free time and lunch (NOT included). Return to the hotel at the established time and have dinner at your leisure (NOT included). Overnight in Mestre.
Day 4: Mestre - Verona - Florence
After breakfast, proceed to Verona. Here you can go discovering very famous monuments, such as the Arena di Verona. During your free time you can then move to the colorful Piazza delle Erbe, walk the shopping street, without missing a picture from the famous balcony of Juliet.
After free time for lunch (NOT included), arrive in Florence. With a guided walking tour discover Piazza del Duomo, Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio and other famous attractions. Check-in at the hotel, dinner at leisure (NOT included) and overnight.
Day 5: Florence
After breakfast, join your day at leisure to explore Florence on your own. We suggest you to visit the Uffizi Gallery, Accademia Gallery, Montalcino, Chianti area in Tuscany. Lunch is NOT included.
At the end of the day, return at the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Florence - Assisi - Rome
After breakfast, arrive in Assisi: join your free time to discover St. Francis and St. Claire churches and have lunch (NOT included).
Then proceed to Rome, where you will have free time for dinner at leisure (NOT included). Overnight.
Day 7: Rome - Naples - Pompeii - Sorrento
After breakfast, depart to Naples and join a walk around the city centre: discover Piazza del Plebiscito, Palazzo Reale, Galleria Umbero I and Teatro San Carlo. Have an authentic Neapolitan lunch! Then proceed to Pompeii for the guided tour of the archaeological excavations.
After the visit, you will be transfered to Sorrento for the check-in, dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Day 8: Sorrento - Capri - Sorrento
After breakfast, catch the ferry to the famed Island of Capri. Admire the grand coastal landscape and tranquil Tyrrhenian Sea during your ride. Once on the island, embark on an adventure to the enchanting Blue Grotto (weather and sea conditions permitting), an exotic sea cave.
Later, arrive in Anacapri, a high vantage point with equally stunning vistas. After lunch in a local restaurant, return to the port of Marina Grande and take the ferry back to Sorrento. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 9: Sorrento - Rome
After breakfast, explore the popular town of Sorrento. Today is a free day, so do whatever your heart desires! Take your time at disposal to stroll through Sorrentine streets and shops or visit some other attractive villages on the peninsula. One favorite is nearby Positano, a lively fishing village and tourist enclave tucked in between the mountains and the sea. Or perhaps venture to the town of Amalfi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and capital of an ancient maritime republic.
Grab lunch on your own (NOT included) and meet back in Sorrento in the late afternoon to board the coach. Start the drive back to Rome.
