Day 1: Arrival in Bari
When you arrive at you hotel in Bari, a tour leader will be waiting for you. Then, you will check in and settle in the hotel. Your tour will begin officially in the afternoon with a visit to The Basilica of San Nicola and the beautiful Cathedral of San Sabino, two places that show the undeniable architectural beauty that Apulia has to offer. After visiting other important places in the city centre, it will be time to taste some local products. First, a tasting of olive olive and, then, a welcome buffet dinner at the hotel with typical Apulian products.Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Bari - Alberobello - Polignano a Mare - Bari
The second day includes a transfer from Bari to Alberobello, a Unesco World Heritage Site, to go on a walking tour of the city. Your local guide will show you a panorama of the city from the "Belvedere Terrace" before exploring the worldwide famous "Trulli of Alberobello", with their typical and picturesque architecture, and the trullo-shaped church of San Antonio. At the end of the walking tour, you will enjoy a tasting of local products. The next destination of the day will be Polignano a Mare, a gem overlooking the cliffs between the sky and the sea, from where you will enjoy some incredible views. After the tour, you will have time for a coffee with a special dessert made by a famous pastry chef. Return to your hotel in Bari and overnight there.
Day 3: Bari - Ostuni - Lecce
After breakfast at the hotel in Bari, transfer to Ostuni, also known as the "white city" and visit to places such as the Palazzo Vescovile, Saint Horace and the imposing Gothic style Cathedral. After the walking tour, you will enjoy a light meal at a local Masseria with a special tasting of olive oil, wine and others local delicacies, including desserts. Then, we will travel to Lecce where you will stay at another hotel.
Day 4: Lecce - Otranto- Santa Maria di Leuca - Lecce
The fourth day will begin with a transfer from the hotel in Lecce to the historic city of Otranto, situated in the most eastern location in Italy. Here you will visit the famous St. Peter's Church and the Aragonese Castle and you will have time to stroll in the characteristic alleys of the city. After, you will travel south to the city of Santa Maria di Leuca, south of Salento and overlooking a charming bay. Weather permitting, we will take a boat trip on the bay to admire the caves and the cliffs on the crystal clear sea, some even swim!. Then, we will return to Lecce to visit properly this barroque gem in the South of Italy. You guide will show you the main attractions like the Porta Napoli, the Cathedral, the Church of Santa Irene, San Oronzo square and the Roman Theatre. After the tour of Lecce, dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Lecce - Manduria - Matera - Bari
The fifth day of your tour will begin after breakfast at the hotel with a stop at Manduria to visit the wine museum, a unique Apulian experience. Here, you will learn more about the local culture and the making of wine. Besides, you will taste 5 different types of wine served with local products and homemade pasta. After this light lunch, we will go to beautiful Matera, known by its "Sassi", houses built on the stone. You will discover a city where time seems to have stopped with its aristocratic buildings and the stone churches. Matera has been proclaimed European City of Culture in 2019. After the visit to Matera, return to Bari and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Bari
The sixth day is the last day of the tour. After breakfast at the hotel, end of our services.
