Day Trips & Excursions in Naples

A little trouble locating our guide at the meeting point, but uphill from there. Pepe was a great guide. Knowledgeable, witty and quite entertaining. This was the perfect tour for people who want options in the days activities. Once on the island the choices were yours... chair lift up the mountain in Ana Capri, a boat ride around the Isle of Capri, the Blue Grotto (which is not always open which made the boat ride more exciting) museums, shopping, site seeing, catching lunch or a drink seaside with a new friend. An adventure worth pursuing.

This was such a fun day! Our guide, Lucio, was amazing. The drive, visiting the furniture factory and shopping in Sorrento, the Lemoncello factory, the views, the lunch, the boat ride in Amalfi - everything was incredible. T he only issue was the A/C in the van only cooled the main part of the bus, when the driver turned his vent off - we figured that out at the end of the day...it would have been good for the company to tell the guide about this before we started. :)

Capri and Anacapri are beautiful towns on a majestic island. The scenery is spectacular. The only complaint about this experience was that it was advertised as using a hydrofoil for transport to and from the island and we were on a ferry.

We were picked up in Sorrento by our guide and driven to Pompeii, We purchased the tickets and headphones and got into Pompeii very quickly. It was quite crowded but our guide was able to take us to places quickly without the crowds. It is a huge site so it was lovely to have a guide and then you can take yourself back again and wander round at your own time. We then had a delicious lunch in a restaurant outside the ruins. We then went back in the miini bus to Herculaneum. These ruins are much smaller and less crowded.We had a lovely time going round them and learning its history. Back into the bus to Sorrento.A nice drive along the coast. A very good day.

It was an incredibly hot day and we spent most of it under the sun. Despite this, me and my partner will never forget it. Lia, our tour guide, was amazing. She has entertained us all day, both on the bus and during the walking visits. Everything was meticulously covered, her English was excellent, even managing to translate the Neapolitan's typical sense of humour very effectively. What I believe made the difference during this trip, was Lia's established knowledge of these sites and their history. Lia has been able not just to give us an incredibly accurate and detailed list of facts, but she tickled our imagination by including characters into her stories. Real people from 2000 years ago seemed to be around us, attending to their daily routines: the wine shop owner who slept upstairs, the refreshment stop points scattered around the streets, the women gossiping about their bad husbands in the spa, the rich home owners wanting to retire in the afternoon for a nap at the back of the house, far from the hustle and bustle of the frenetic front room where the slaves would be at work. We were accurately informed about dates, locations, what happened in 79 ad during the eruption, daily life customs, architecture, art and more. I will never forget this day, I always wanted to visit Pompei and I couldn't have had a better guide. Grazie Lia!!

Full day excursion taking us to Pompeii in the morning and Vesuvius in the afternoon. Prompt pick up with clear instructions on where that would be. Good guide providing lots of information. Well timed and value for money.
