Visit the ancient ruins of Pompeii and discover the excavations with your guide
First you will reach the incredible Pompeii. You will acess fastly, thanks to the skip-the-line tickets included in the tour price. Here you will meet your professional guide who will take you to explore the remains of the ancient Roman town, beautifully preserved over the centuries thanks to the volcanic materials that submerged it up 10 meters.
Visiting private homes, markets, baths and the main buildings of Pompeii you will have the opportunity to make a real journey through time, in a place where everything stopped at that catastrophic morning in 79 AD.
Visit the park of Vesuvius up to its top and admire the view of the Gulf of Naples
After free time for lunch (NOT included), you will reach the park of Vesuvius, which you will accede with the entrance ticket included in the tour package.
Once in the National Park of Vesuvius, your bus will take you up to 1000 meters and then you will begin your walking tour until the top of the mountain, walkin 30 minutes approximately. Join a walk along a breathtaking nature trail: go up the Vesuvius, surrounded by greenery and unspoiled air, and reach the top of the imposing volcano, where you can admire the enormous crater and terrific views of the Gulf of Naples.
At the end of the excursion, you will come back to Sorrento by bus.

Well organised and stunning experience
We got collected from our hotel at the agreed pick-up time, got taken to Pompeii in a group of about 16 people. Our guide Daniella was amazing - her English and instructions of the structure of the trip was very clear which made the experience so much more enjoyable. She informed us about places of interest on the way there in a knowledgeable way which we learnt a lot from. Her knowledge of Pompeii was fascinating and it was clear she loved her job and made everyone feel relaxed. The tour lasted for 2 hours at Pompeii which was enough time to move around the site. We then had 40 minutes lunch break before being taken up to the top of Vesuvius on the serpentine windy road. We had to walk the last bit to the top by ourselves which took about 25 minutes. The view from the top was stunning and there were a few places at the crater to buy refreshments. The climb was very steep, dusty and slippy so ensure you wear sensible footwear for this part of the trip. Overall we would highly recommend Italy XP and we are hoping to re-visit Sorrento again and wouldn't hesitate to book further excursions with this company.

Full day excursion taking us to Pompeii in the morning and Vesuvius in the afternoon. Prompt pick up with clear instructions on where that would be. Good guide providing lots of information. Well timed and value for money.
