After an American-style buffet breakfast at the hotel, board the bus to visit Verona, the town made famous by star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Other two of Shakespeare's plays, The Two Gentlemen of Verona and The Taming of the Shrew, were also set here. Aside from its literary fame, Verona is home to a historic Roman amphitheatre and is recognized for its artistic heritage, shows, and operas. Verona has also been named a UNESCO World Heritage Site, courtesy of its urban architecture.
Proceed to Sirmione, a lovely town located on a peninsula within Lake Garda, Italy's second largest lake. Here, receive a guided tour of the town and its historic centre. See sights such as the Grottoes of Catullus - a quintessential private Roman edifice, the frescoed Santa Maria Maggiore church, and the Scaglier Castle - a rare example of port fortification in medieval times which stands guard at the peninsula's entrance. After the tour, you'll have some free time for lunch in this stunning setting.
In the afternoon, continue to Lake Como, one of the deepest lakes in Europe and also considered one of the most beautiful. This glacial lake has long been a favorite destination of aristocrats, since Roman times. In the evening arrive at the hotel in Milan, where you will eat dinner and stay the night.
