Food tour of Florence

Florence is the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, known as the cradle of the Renaissance. As we walk around the historic center of Florence, you’ll see the main monuments, churches and buildings that were built during the medieval times. Your guide will take you to admire not only the major attractions such as Piazza Santa Maria Novella, the Church of San Lorenzo, the Duomo, Piazza della Repubblica, Orsanmichele, Ponte Vecchio, but you will also have the opportunity to discover and taste the typical Florentine dishes, accompanied by excellent local wine.
Your guide will lead you to the characteristic Market of San Lorenzo, where you will taste the popular "cantuccini", dry biscuits, to be paired with vinsanto, the typical Tuscan sweet wine. During your walking tour the guide will tell you some particular anecdotes, for example related to the so-called "wine holes" practiced on the facades of the Florentine buildings or the history of the most famous Tuscan families of wine producers, the Antinori and the Frescobaldi. In the meantime, you will walk throug the attractions of the city, up to the last stop of the tour of Florence: the tasting of two traditional Tuscan dishes: the "ribollita" and the "pappa al pomodoro", made with Tuscan bread.

Tour of Pisa

After Florence, you will be taken by bus to another Tuscan jewel: Pisa. Here, you will meet your guide to start a tour of the Miracle Square. The square, which is pedestrian and covered by a vast lawn, is the most important tourist and artistic center of the city. Here you can admire the monuments that represent the center of Pisan religious life, called "miracles" (from Gabriele D'Annunzio in one of his famous works) for their magnificence and beauty: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Campo Santo and the Leaning Tower.
Together with the guide you will visit the Cathedral inside and you will be provided with all the historical explanations related to the Tower of Pisa. The leaning tower of Pisa is a freestanding bell tower, located behind the Cathedral and it is the third oldest structure in the Piazza del Duomo. In this tour, you will admire it from the outside and discover from our local guide as to the reason why Pisa's tower started to tilt and how over the centuries, the structure was increased gradually.
You will then have some free time before taking the bus back to Florence and then the high-speed train to Rome, where you will arrive in the evening, happy with your special day.
