Day 1: Bari
Arrival at Bari Hotel and overnight.
Day 2: Bari
Breakfast at the hotel and it is a day dedicated to the capital of Apulia, Bari. You can go through the historical centre of Bari , called Bari Vecchia, exploring the historical facts and monuments since the time of the Roman rule from the 3rd century B. C. From the centre, we can stroll through the Pasta Alley, where a variety of homemade orecchiette pasta are made.
At the Piazza Mercantile, be ready to experience the multifaceted cultures and lifestyle of this historical metropolitan town. Not missing the 12th century built Norman Castello Svevo, served as a residence for Isabella of Aragon. Its inner courtyards and monumental staircase are a few of the treasures in the Castello Svevo.
The Romanesque Cathedral of St. Sabinus remains to be an important example of the Apulian architecture. Later, return to your hotel in Bari.
Day 3: Bari – Alberobello
After a hearty breakfast at the hotel, you can depart to visit Alberobello and the Trulli. Alberobello, named "Beautiful Tree". It's a small town which garnered the title of UNESCO World Heritage for its uniquely dry stone cone shaped roof, Trullo.
The concept of Trullo has been dated back to prehistoric age, yet the existence of Trullo shown in Alberobello is one dating back to the 14th century. These white-washed conical shaped roofs were the first temporary dwellings of the local agriculture farmers. Soon, it became permanent and its community expanded. The construction of trullo is not a simple one. Overnight stay in Alberobello.
Day 4: Alberobello – Castel Del Monte – Alberobello
Breakfast at the hotel and then proceed towards Andria, an agricultural city which produces wine, olives and almonds. On one of the hill is the famous 13th century Norman Castel del Monte. It is one of the most famous Italian castles and is listed amongst the UNESCO Heritage Site. It is famous enough to have it commensurate on One Cent Euro coins.
Andria, being the favourite residence of Emperor Frederick II, it was him that commissioned the building of Castel del Monte, although he died before it was completed. Having eight octagonal towers the octagonal castle has an eight-sided courtyard with both floors having eight rooms. 7
Castel del Monte was built in the vision of the likes as Dome of the Rock, whom Emperor Frederick II has seen in Jerusalem. At the end of your visit, you will then return back to Alberobello for the night.
Day 5: Alberobello – Barletta – Trani
Breakfast at the hotel in Alberobello and then you journey to Barletta, where a part of an area was the important battlefield between the Romans and the Carthaginians during in 216 B. C. At the square, you will see a monument raised in the story of Fieramosca, a battle between 13 knights commanded by Ettore Fieramosca defeated an equal number of French knights.
It is a part of Italian history and the earliest manifestation recorded of Italian national pride – Joust of Barletta. Then you will head to Trani, visit the city and overnight at the Hotel in Trani.
Day 6: Trani
After breakfast at the hotel, full day dedicated to visiting the city of Trani, renamed "the pearl of the Adriatic". A city rich in artistic and architectural beauty, evidence of its glorious past, Trani is famous for its Romanesque Cathedral overlooking the sea, as well as for the production of Moscato wine.
Among the things you can visit, worthy of note is the tourist port, the symbol of the city that emphasizes its marine vocation, where you will find several places where you can enjoy the exceptional cuisine of Apulia. In the evening, return to the hotel in Trani and overnight.
Day 7: Trani - Bari
After breakfast, you will continue your visit of Trani. You can relax inside the Villa Comunale, or continue to admire architectural jewels such as the Castello Svevo, a monumental building also overlooking the sea like the splendid and imposing Cathedral of Nicola il Pellegrino. Next, you'll move to Bari for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 8: Bari
After breakfast at the Hotel, end of the tour.
