We will visit the famous St. Mark’s Square and St. Mark’s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, and the Old Prisons in Venice, together with a motorboat excursion to the islands of the Lagoon of Murano, Burano and Torcello or some shopping instead. We will then head to Cortina and to the Dolomite Mountains in Belluno, gaze at the spectacular views and discover the cosmopolitan Cortina town. On the fourth day, we will have a full excursion to Verona to see the Roman amphitheatre and the historic centre. Explore the scenes of Juliet’s famous balcony, Casa di Giuletta and the Church of San Zeno. The tour ends with a transfer to Venice airport for your return flight.
Day 1 – Venice
Arrival at Venice Airport and transfer to the 4 star hotel in Venice Mestre and check in. There will be free time for you to explore Venice in the evening.
Day 2 –Venice
After breakfast, we will start our morning with a full day guided walking tour around Venice. We will start with Venice’s town square, the famous St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco), where the San Marco Campanile is. Then we will walk towards the gilded dome of St. Mark’s Basilica, after which we will visit the gothic style Doge’s Palace and its museum. Along the way, we will be able to see the Clock Tower of Venice on the north side of Piazza San Marco. We will walk along the Grand Canal to see the iconic white-stoned and enclosed Bridge of Sighs and the Old Prisons.
Lunch is eaten at your leisure and after lunch, you have the option of joining a motorboat excursion to the Venetian Lagoon where you might catch a glimpse of bottlenose dolphins. We will pass by Murano, Burano and Torcello. However, you also have an option to go shopping in the glamorous Venetian shops if you so wish.
Day 3 – Cortina d’Ampezzo and the Dolomites
Enjoy a memorable day exploring Cortina, the heart of the Southern Alps in the Veneto region and bask in the majestic beauty of the Dolomite Mountains. We will make numerous stops at scenic viewpoints, walk around lakes and spend some time in the cosmopolitan town of Cortina. During the day, you will see typical Tyrolean villages and distant glaciers, soaring peaks and the extensive pine and larch forests surrounding the emerald green lakes which mirror the mountains. At the end of the day, we will return to Venice Mestre.
Day 4 – Verona, Venice
In our full day excursion to Verona, we will go for a sightseeing tour to the well-known and well preserved magnificent Roman Amphitheatre that stands in the heart of the historic centre and is still in use for the famous open air Opera Festival and other events. During our tour, we will explore the city’s finest Romanesque buildings and structures, the Verona Arena, the Porta Bosari, Arco dei Gavi, the Piazza dei Signori, the Church of San Zeno as well as the famous Juliet’s balcony. At the end of the day, we will return back to Venice Mestre.
Day 5 – Venice
As our farewell gesture, we will transfer you to Venice Airport to catch your return flight.
