Burano Island

During this boat trip from Venice you will be accompanied by a guide that will explain everything you will see, making it even more enjoyable and unique. A beautiful motor-launch will take you safely from one place to another, and the first stage of your day will be Burano, famous for its colorful houses, typical fishermen's homes, but also for lace making, centenarian tradition of the island . Small pink, yellow and green buildings will wait for you to leave you speechless and your guide will explain how these colors were wanted by fishermen in order to make recognizable homes even from the sea. Today, more than 3,000 people live on this island and many of them carry on local lace production, making the island famous. Once you arrive you will have some free time to go on the island.

Murano Island

After a walk to explore the island of Burano, your boat trip will take you to Murano, which is actually a small archipelago of many islands where you will discover everything about its tradition of glass processing. The inhabitants of this archipelago are about 4,500, and from 1291 here the glass is produced and the glass is being worked, the decision was taken by the Venice Council which decided to relocate glass production here because the ovens were creating too many fires and for this reason they were forced to cease their activities and to move to other areas, the choice fell on Murano.

The fascination of glass

If a ride on the island will not be enough to appreciate all the charm and beauty of the glass, this boat trip will add a further note to your day: you can actually go to a real factory where glass is produced and assist a moment of processing and production of this material flux; once inside the factory you will also be able to visit the interior showroom where you can admire all the shapes and colors that the glass, worked by skilled hands, can take. At the end of the visit you will resume your boat to return to Venice.
