Day 1: Rignano sull'Arno
Arrival at the hotel and check in. Free time to relax and settle down. Afterwards, dinner at your hotel, dedicated to the Tuscan culinary traditions with typical local dishes to taste. Overnight in 4 stars hotel.
Day 2: Montevarchi, Valley of Chio
After a hearty breakfast, we will depart towards Montevarchi, a village that for centuries has been called as the "city market" for the nearby areas such as Valdarno, Chianti and Pratomagno. Today, Montevarchi is considered one of the most important markets of Tuscany: a meeting place for merchants, residents of the city, and, above all, for farmers and small local producers who, until 1960, used all possible means to reach the squares of Montevarchi, to bid and sell their goods.
The morning will be dedicated to visit the market and, subsequently, you will have a free lunch to offer you the opportunity to the local gastronomy.
In the afternoon we will enjoy a unique cooking class: 2 hours dedicated to learn the typical Tuscan dishes, in the country-house of Santo Stefano, located in the woods between Arezzo and Cortona. You will have the opportunity to prepare a full menu with local seasonal food. Dinner with the chef and a menu dedicated to some traditional local recipes. Overnight.
Day 3: Hills of Chianti, Castellina in Chianti
In the morning, drive to the Chianti hills, to reach the beautiful Castellina in Chianti, an ancient town with Etruscan origins and characterized by high medieval walls. Lunch at "Antica Trattoria La Torre", in the historic center of the village, which will serve a traditional menu with seasonal dishes and local products, including wine.
Free time to stroll around the city. In the afternoon, there will be a tasting of food products, organized by Slow-Food, at the farm "Podere Le Fornaci". You will have the opportunity to taste organic cheese and fresh ricotta cheese, produced by goats grazing on the hills of Chianti. Overnight at the hotel.
