8-Day tour to Sicily and Malta, Departing from Palermo

DAY 1: Palermo

Welcome to Sicily! Arrive independently to the hotel in Palermo (contact us for an optional private transfer from the airport). In the evening you will meet your tour-leader and your travel companions. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 2: Monreale - Palermo

After breakfast in the hotel, the first stop of the day will be Monreale, famous for its cathedral with mosaics on a gold background that cover its surface and its walls. You will then return to discover all of the fascinating treasures that the city of Palermo holds.
A few of the treasures include preserved monuments, the Palatine Chapel, and the Fountain Square Pretoria. You will also have a stop for a food surprise in a local bakery. After free time for lunch (NOT included), keep visiting the city centre. Dinner and overnight in hotel.

DAY 3: Marsala - Salt Road - Agrigento

After breakfast at the hotel, visit the colorful Marsala, a Mediterranean modern city, divided between sea and land. Here you will join the visit of a wine cellar (wine tasting and lunch will be included).
No trip to Sicily is complete without a visit to the ancient Greek city in Agrigento, where you visit the Valley of the Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Defined in ancient time as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the ruins of Akragas now rise among the trees and you will admire the most interesting temples. Dinner and accommodation in hotel in Agrigento.

DAY 4: Piazza Armerina - Ragusa Ibla - Valletta

After breakfast, depart for Piazza Armerina, a UNESCO site internationally renowned. History is alive at the Villa Romana del Casale in the Piazza Armerina and you will relish the mosaics that show pictures of hunting and mythological scenes. Here you will enjoy some free time for lunch (NOT included).
Then you will wander through the Ibleo Garden and churches while visiting the city of Ragusa. You will be enchanted by its historical center "Ibla", with its fifty churches and palaces in the Baroque style. Get yourself ready for a tasting of local products.
Later a transfer will take you to the Port of Pozzallo. From there, you will take the direct ferry that will bring you to Malta, at Valletta Port. Private transfer to your Hotel and overnight. 
 
Please, note that the Tour Escort will be present until the evening of Day 4. From the Day 5, the tour will be semi-independent.
 

DAY 5: La Valletta, Mdina, St. Julian’s

The first day of the Malta eXPerience will begin after breakfast, with a tour of La Valletta. A guide/driver will take you to visit the most interesting attractions, including the Barraca Gardens, from where you can enjoy a fantastic view on the Valletta Port, to St. John’s Cathedral, the Palace of the Grand Master, the Casa Rocca Piccola, a baroque jewel. The tour continues to Mdina, the former capital of Malta, located right in the center of the island: after visiting the Cathedral of St. Paul, you will have some free time to explore the charming streets of the village. Return to the Hotel by private transfer. Overnight in Hotel. 

DAY 6: Malta, Cottonera, Marsaxlokk, Blue Grotto, Dingli, Golden Bay

The sixt day will be dedicated to a full day excrusion with a private driver/guide, who will take you to visit many attractions of Malta.  The first stop is Cottonera, also called "The Three Cities": the three fortified cities of Senglea, Vittoriosa and Cospicua. Next, we head over the Marsaxlokk village, a nice picturesque villages where you can admire the architecture and the colorful traditional boats called "luzzi" floating in the Port. After some free time, the driver will take you to  Wied iz­Zurrieq where you will embark on boat tourtowards the famous Blue Grotto, an idyllic spot perfect for pictures. We will then proceed towards Dingli, passing through Malta countryside and last, the Golden Bay in Mellieha, one of the most beautiful beaches of the island! Free time for a bath and return to the hotel for the overnight. 

DAY 7: Comino, Laguna Blu, Gozo, le Grotte di Malta

The last full day in Malta is dedicated to a fantastic mini cruise! A private transfer will take you to Bugibba to get onboard the boat. You will sail to the island of Comino and you will stop at the Blue Lagoon. You will have time, around one hour, to take some pictures, sunbathe and have a swim, before reaching Gozo. You'll discover its best places: Ta 'Pinu, Dwejra, the Azure Window and the capital Victoria. Transfer to your hotel and overnight.

DAY 8: Malta

After breakfast, this unforgettable tour will end.
 
For organizational reasons or due to force majeure the itinerary may be modified. We will not be responsible for any disruption due to weather and sea conditions concerning all hydrofoil and ferry crossings among the islands.
