You will meet your escort guide in Palermo, greeted by a welcome cocktail and dinner. Overnight in Palermo.
After breakfast, you will depart for the coastal town of Cefalù, where you will visit the Cathedral after a walk through the city center, rich in historical ruins, such as the medieval wash-house built in the rock. Next, you will proceed to the medieval village of Castelbuono, on the slopes of the Madonie: here, you will stop at a local bakery to taste the typical Sicilian products. After the lunch in a farm, you will move toward Catania through the Madonie Natural Park. In the evening, dinner and overnight in Catania.
After breakfast, you will travel to Syracuse, the most beautiful of the former Greek colony, where you’ll visit the Neapolis archaeological park: here you will find the famous Latomie of the Paradise, the Greek Theatre and the legendary "ear" of Dionysus. After that, you visit Ortigia, the small historic center of Syracuse, where you will admire the Cathedral, built on the site of the Temple of Minerva, the wonderful "Fountain of Arethusa" and the Temple of Apollo. After the lunch at a local restaurant, you will proceed to Noto, one of the most beautiful baroque cities in the island, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In conclusion, you’ll return to Catania for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you depart for a trip to Mount Etna: through the fascinating landscape of the highest active volcano in Europe, you’ll reach a height of about 1,900 meters, admiring splendid views. After the lunch at a restaurant on the mountain, you will continue to Taormina, a town founded in front of the sea and called, not surprisingly, the "Pearl of the Ionian Sea". Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the famous greek-Roman Theatre. At the end, return to Catania for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, you will reach Piazza Armerina where you’ll visit the Villa Romana del Casale, which houses the largest collection of late Roman mosaics in the world, declared a UNESCO World Heritage. Next, you’ll reach Agrigento for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Valley of the Temples, an archaeological site characterized by the exceptional state of preservation of its temples, including the Temple of Concord. At the end, dinner and hotel accommodation.
After breakfast, you’ll depart for the archaeological park of Selinunte, the largest in the Mediterranean. For lunch, you'll reach a local farm, famous for the production of olive oil, where you will have the chance to taste it. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the archeological area of Segesta. Next, you will move to Palermo for the accommodation in a downtown hotel for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, free time in the morning or excursion (optional) to the Monte Pellegrino, the most famous mountain in Palermo, where you will visit the shrine of Santa Rosalia, venerated saint of the city. From the top of the mountain, you can admire the whole Conca d'Oro, the plain on which lies Palermo. You will conclude the morning discovering one of the most colorful historical markets of Palermo, the "Capo Market". Return to the hotel for lunch. In the early afternoon, departure to Monreale where you will admire the Cathedral, famous for its Byzantine mosaics, and the cloister of the Benedictines, with its Moorish architecture. At the end of the day, you will enjoy a panoramic tour through the historic center of Palermo, where you will admire the Quattro Canti, the Opera House and Piazza Pretoria.
