Quad excursion on Mount Etna departing from Catania or Taormina

The group tour that will take you to discover Mount Etna starts in Nicolosi. There, you will be given a rental quad, on which your will travel to the volcano.

Even if the terrain is not always easy, riding a vehicle off-road gives you an amazing feeling of power and freedom. In just 2 hours, you will reach your destination, which is an impressive active volcano, that has to offer some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world. Driving around its paths, you can notice huge meadows, desolate areas burnt by eruptions, dense forests and rich crops.

Get ready for some adventure time

Our group tour is an original trip aboard a fun-filled quad, a four-wheeled vehicle specialised in off-roads. At the base of the Silvestri Craters, you can witness two of the most spectacular attractions in Sicily. The surreal pyroclastic cones formed by the eruption in 1982 give the slopes of Etna a lunar setting.
The scenery is so unique that you won’t know how to react. Walking on the edge of the southern crater, you can enjoy the panorama from all directions. Some tourists even dare to approach the craters, using themselves as a scale to show us their real size.

Visit other attractions in the area

After the Silvestri Craters, the group tour continues. You will go back from Piano Vetore through the Altomontano Etna track. In order to rent a QUAD, you only need a normal driver’s license. Luckily for the tourists, the QUAD doesn’t require any special skills.
Before the departure, a specialised guide will teach you how to use the vehicle, in order to keep up with the group. If you experience any kind of trouble with driving this vehicle, please discuss with the guide, in order to find a solution to the problem. If you don’t have much experience with QUADs, it it advised to take another route that is not offroad.
