Day 1: Rome, Assisi, Siena, Florence
After breakfast on your own, meet at our office in Rome or arrange for us to pick you up at your centrally-located hotel. Board the bus and start towards the mystical walled town of Assisi.
Once in Assisi, visit the Basilica of Saint Francis, named after the saint who was born here. This impressive basilica is adorned with artistic masterpieces by the likes of Giotto and Cimabue from the early Renaissance era.
Proceed toward Siena, where you will have lunch and tour the marvellous medieval city. Listen as your experienced guide recounts the stories of Siena, highlighting the famous Palio horse races that take place there. Back on the bus, continue to Florence, where you will be served an exquisite Tuscan meal at the hotel and rest up for another day of adventures.
Day 2: Florence
After an American-style buffet breakfast at the hotel, follow your guide on a sightseeing tour through Florence and see firsthand why this splendid city is often called the "Cradle of the Renaissance".
Tour Florence's most famous landmarks, including the Piazza del Duomo, Giotto's Bell Tower, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, the Baptistery of Saint John, and last but not least, Santa Croce, a Franciscan Church from the 13th century containing Cimabue's crucifix.
The rest of the day is yours to spend however your heart desires in one of Italy's greatest cities. Find a delicious place for a local lunch, then perhaps stroll through the streets of Florence, browsing the quaint shops. We also recommend spending the afternoon in the nearby Pisa, to see the world-famous Leaning Tower. Meet again for a delicious dinner, included in the tour, at a local restaurant.
Day 3: Florence, Padua, Venice
After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Venice on a comfortable coach bus. To break up the ride, stop in the picturesque town of Padua, where you will spot Donatello's masterpiece Gattamelata and the famous Cathedral of Saint Anthony. Grab a bite to eat here before resuming the ride to Venice.
Once in the one-of-a-kind city of Venice, follow your knowledgeable guide for a walking tour. See the city's most famous monuments and landmarks, including Saint Mark's Square and the Basilica of Saint Mark, the Doge's Palace, and the Bridge of Sighs. Listen closely as your guide shares the secrets of this fascinating place. After the tour, head to the hotel in Venice for dinner and rest up for another exciting day.
Day 4: Venice, Rome
After breakfast at the hotel, traverse the waterways of Venice by boat. Cross the Lagoon and be rewarded with a stunning view of the islands while making your way to the Island of Murano, famous for its glass blowing. After assisting in a glass blowing demonstration, spend some time shopping for artisanal glass souvenirs.
Upon return to the center of Venice, depart for either the train station or head to our motor coach to return to Rome.
