After visiting the main monuments of the centre of Naples, full of art, history and culture, it will be time to discover the "food" side of Naples, very important as well. You will have the chance to experience the Pignasecca market, one of the oldest and most picturesque of Naples. Enjoy the taste of pizza, mozzarella, ham, sosages, and some sweet food like "sfogliatella" and " babà ", paired with a local wine or a Neapolitan espresso.
The Neapolitan art of the Presepio
During this amazing tour of Naples you will then proceed to "Spaccanapoli" the street that divides into two halves the centre of Naples. You will pass thorugh the famous San Gregorio Armeno, where you may admire an artisan shop with the finely crafted miniature work of art: objects representing the birth of Jesus, called Presepio. The tradition took place in the Middle Age, in order to imitate Saint Francis of Assisi who first created the nativity scene. Before the end of the tour visit the Cathedral of Naples, the church houses a vial of the blood of Saint Januarius which is brought out twice a year, when the dried blood usually liquefies.
