Day 1 – Naples
Arrive at Naples - Capodichino International Airport. Head to your hotel with your car and spend a night in the romantic city of Naples.
Day 2 – Naples
Indulge in a sumptuous hotel breakfast and visit Naples’ most alluring and famous monuments with your private guide: Castel Nuovo (a.k.a Maschio Angioino), Royal Palace, San Carlo Opera House, Santa Chiara Complex. We will be making an exclusive stop at San Gennaro Museum, where you will marvel at invaluable treasures dating back to the 14th century. Located next to the museum is the famous Naples Cathedral (Duomo di Napoli), which houses Domenichino’s frescoes, Luca Giordano’s paintings, and the most important artifact - a vial of the blood of Saint Januarius (San Gennaro – The Bishop of Naples). You will be free for the rest of the day. Overnight at Naples.
Optional: Discover the in and outs of winemaking at the famous winery of Villa Matilde, located a little north of Naples. You will witness the process of wine production, taste the finest South Italian wines and dig into delectable gourmet lunch.
Day 3 – Naples, Pompei, Sorrento
Depart to Pompeii right after breakfast. Travel back in time with your private guide to AD 79, where you will visit the remnants of glorious villas, temples, theatres and forum of the magnificent Pompeii, destroyed overnight by the notorious Vesuvius eruption. Continue your journey to Sorrento. Situated on a cliff with panoramic views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius, the Sorrento Peninsula is known for its unique landscape - Low and high hills, deep valleys and imposing mountains. With the amazing work of man, it has been transformed into pristine terraces degrading towards the sea, orange and lemon orchards, olive groves and magnificent vineyards. Due to its mild and dry climate for most of the year, the Sorrento Peninsula is a perfect destination in every season. Check into your hotel and spend the night in Sorrento.
Day 4 – Sorrento, Capri
After breakfast, depart for the small yet renowned island of Capri. Marvel at the prominent outline of Capri as you travel southwards across the Bay of Naples.
Capri holds many vacation villas and mansions built by Roman Emperors and Patricians. One of Capri’s most well-preserved architecture, Villa Jovis, was a palace built by Emperor Tiberius in AD 27. Capri became an attractive inspirational haven for European artists, musicians, writers and many celebrities from the end of 19th century and still a dream destination for many travellers. Head back to Sorrento and spend the night there.
Day 5 – Sorrento, Positano
Travel to Positano, which is situated along the most gorgeous and enchanting coast of Italy. This stunning town is perched on the cliff façade in a manner that is seemingly cascading into the cerulean waters. If you fancy some elegant beach fashion, you will find that many of Positano’s shops are stocked with vibrant robes, bikinis, surf shorts and bags made from high-quality fabrics. Spend the day at leisure around this quaint little town and retire in one of its cozy hotels.
Day 6 – Positano, Amalfi Coast
Make your way to Amalfi and Ravello by passing through Praiano. Although Praiano is less well-known compared to Amalfi, it hosts a significant number of notable, traditional festivals and cultural events annually. White idyllic cottages sprinkle along the road leading from Praiano to the smaller towns of Furore and Conca dei Marini. Furore is settled on a rather inaccessible location and famous for its superfine cuisine utilizing a perfect blend of locally grown tomatos, olive oil, potatoes and mountain herbs. Located on the east of Furore is a picturesque fishing village of Conca dei Marini with the Grotta dello Smeraldo as its main attraction. Continue your journey to Amalfi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its Amalfi Cathedral a roman catholic structure in the Piazza del Duomo modeled with highly decorative mosaic exteriors and a remarkable flight of steps.
Embark on the provincial highway leading to Ravello, a small settlement situated above Maiori and Minori. Visit the terraces of famed majestic villas of Ravello, which once provided hospitality to many famous personages such as J.F. Kennedy, Roberto Rossellini and Winston Churchill, for spectacular views of the Gulf of Salerno.
You will spend the night at Ravello.
Day 7 – Amalfi Coast, Salerno, Naples
Back on the SS163 and wheezing through Capo d'Orso, you'll find yourself in the last town along Amalfi Coast – Vietri sul Mare. A town of Etruscan origin, it is an ideal destination for a beach vacation and famed for its handmade ceramics. After stopping for lunch, you will continue in the direction of Salerno and head back to Naples for the night.
Day 8 – Departure
Breakfast, check out and reach by car the Naples International Airport.
