Discover the history of the House of Savoy through learning the lifestyle and customs of the Venaria Royal Palace as each room will present the lavish elegant decorations with props from the 16th century. Venaria Royal Palace is one of the UNESCO sites in Piedmont region of Turin. A few kilometres away from the centre of Turin, the Venaria Royal Palace was founded in the 16th century as a place of leisure and hunting where kings liked to entertain in lavish banquets and elegant parties as part of the hunting rituals. Discover the habits and customs of the House of Savoy’s court life.
The tour will lead you through the basement rooms, which was formerly warehouses and kitchens, to learn about its history, customs and anecdotes of the House of Savoy ancestors. Whilst at the main floor, you will be treated to the vast collection of stucco, frescoes, sculptures and small architectural jewels of the Baroque period that is uniquely handcrafted by the artist in the 17th century.
The Venaria Royal Palace is well known for its French garden designed by famous garden architects, Amedeo diCastellamonte and Juvarra. The Gardens garnered many raving reviews of the complexity and geometrically stunning designs Take a leisure stroll through the extensive Garden and enjoy the Fontana d’Ercole fountain show while you sit across one of the coffee bars.
