The Dolomites are an exceptional place and on our 4-days escorted tour from Milan, you will see the history that has made this area what it is today. At each attraction, you will be transported back in time to Shakespearean days when the villages were small and the castles were new.
This Tour of the Dolomites will take 4 days in which will be able to experience the best that this region has to offer. We have taken care of all of the planning, so all that you need to do is relax and enjoy the fun that will continue throughout your entire trip.
Departure at 8:30 AM from the NH Touring in Milan. Once in Verona, you can visit Juliet’s balcony and relive the love that Romeo and Juliet shared. While in Verona, you will see the Arena, Old Square of the Market, Piazza delle Erbe as well as the famous buildings that surrounds it. Free time for lunch (not included). We leave to Cortina d'Ampezzo in the direction of Val di Fiemme, Val di Fassa, Pordoi, some of the most beautiful valleys of the Dolomites. The region is characterized by typical mountain villages with particular characteristics. Stop in Canazei, the jewel of Val di Fassa and popular tourist resort all year round thanks to a magnificent view of the Dolomites. Once you arrive in Cortina d'Ampezzo, you will be able to devour the local Trentino apples and speck before retiring to your room for the evening. Overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit of the three peaks at Lake Misurina. The most important are the Lavaredo ones (probably the best place for experienced climbers). You will then go back to visit the pearls of the Dolomites: Lake Braies, unique in the world for the particular glistening color of its waters. Visit of Val Pustera and Val Badia, the most representative valleys of the region, here stop for lunch (not included). On your way back to Cortina, you will cross Val Gardena and see the wonderful Passo di Giau. Free time for the rest of the day. Overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast you will visit Passo Falzarego. You will enjoy superb views, both in summer and in winter, in Passo Costalunga located between Val di Fassa and Val Gardena. Stop at Lake Carezza before leaving for Merano for some fabulous shopping. Merano is also an historical and cultural center famous worldwide. Free time for lunch. Second part of the day dedicated to the discovery of Bolzano, a medieval town that has developed a 'massive industrial network during the Great War'. An important symbol of the town is Duomo the Cathedral and you will see this as well as strolling the main streets of the town. On your last day, you will see fantastic castles that have been around for centuries. Free time in the evening and overnight at the hotel.
Breakfast at the hotel and visit of Trento: the city is dominated by the castle, famous for being called the Castle of Good Counsel, a symbol of the House of Habsburg. The Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica was built in the sixteenth century and it represents one of the first Renaissance building in the Gothic style. Free time for lunch. After exploring the castles, you will return to Milan for the end of your guided tour.
