Day 1: Catania
Meeting in Catania, with a welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Syracuse - Ragusa
Departure to Syracuse, the most beautiful of the former Greek colonies, and then continue to the island of Ortigia where you will admire the Cathedral and the beautiful "Fontana Aretusa". Next, you will reach the town of Ragusa, with its splendid palaces and baroque churches, famous thanks to the tv-series "Inspector Montalbano". Here, you will have the opportunity to taste the local delights, from the eateries of the Duomo Square. At the end of the tour, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Caltagirone - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento
Departure to Caltagirone, famous for the manufacture of ceramic and terracotta. Then, you will reach Piazza Armerina to visit the Villa Romana del Casale, which houses the largest collection of late-Roman mosaics in the world, declared UNESCO heritage site. After the lunch at a local restaurant, you will reach Agrigento to visit the Valley of the Temples, an archaeological site famous for the exceptional state of preservation of its temples. At the end, dinner and hotel accommodation.
Day 4: Palermo - Monreale
After the breakfast, you will depart to Palermo, where you will have free time to visit the Sicilian capital. In the afternoon, you will reach Monreale where you will admire the Cathedral and the cloister of the Benedictines. You will continue your day with a visit of the center of Palermo, admiring the Cathedral, the Norman Palace and its superb Palatine Chapel. At the end of the tour, dinner at a local restaurant and overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Segesta - Erice - Trapani - Palermo
You will depart in the morning to reach Segesta, where you will admire the magnificent Doric Temple and the Theatre, all surrounded by a beautiful natural landscape. Next, you will visit the medieval village of Erice, placed atop a mountain overlooking the city of Trapani and the Aegadian Islands. Returning to Palermo, you will enjoy a panoramic tour to the famous "Salt Road" in Trapani, as you will admire the windmills and the basins for salt picking. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Cefalù - Nebrodi Park - Taormina
You will visit the coastal town of Cefalù, with a walk through the center of the city in which you will admire the medieval wash-house, carved in the rock, and the Cathedral in Arab-Norman style. Next, you will move to the Nebrodi Park where you will have a typical lunch. After that, you will continue to Cesarò and Randazzo, visiting the park from the north and admiring its beautiful landscapes. After that you will reach Taormina for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Taormina
In the morning, if you wish, excursion to Mount Etna (optional, to be paid on the spot) to admire the beautiful scenery of the highest active volcano in Europe, from which you can enjoy magnificent views on the Ionian Sea. In the afternoon you visit Taormina, the small medieval town on the sea and called, not surprisingly, the "Pearl of the Ionian Sea". Enjoy some free time for shopping or walking through the streets of the coastal town, or visit the famous Greek-Roman Theatre. At the end, return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Malta
After breakfast, ath the fixed time transfer from Taormina to Catania Airport for a flight to reach the beautiful island of Malta, in the southern Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival, transfer to your Hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Marsaxlokk - Blue Grotto
This day will begin with a tour of of Marsaxlokk village, which with its colors and character makes it a perfect scenario for its market. Weather permitting, we will visit the Blue Grotto (cost not included and payable on the spot), also admiring the shape of the island of Filfla. Later, the guide will lead you to the cloister of one of Malta's most characteristic villages, through the labyrinth of its streets. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Malta and Valletta
In the morning, visit to Valletta, capital of Malta, a fortress city with a rich cultural and historical heritage. Here, you will admire the Cathedral of San Giovanni, which houses a beautiful painting by Caravaggio, and the famous Barrakka Gardens. Later, you will enjoy "Malta Experience", an audiovisual show where Malta history throughout the centuries is brought back to life. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 11: Malta and Mdina
The day will begin with a visit of the medieval city of Mdina for a walk in his historic centre. Next, you will go to Rabat, to visit the Christian Catacombs before proceeding to the Dingli cliffs. After lunch, we will visit the Gardens of St. Anthony and Ta'Qali Crafts where you will admire the Maltese craftsmen at work. Last stop will be the Church of Mosta, famous for its dome. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day 12: Malta
Breakfast in Malta and transfer to Airport or Port.
