Day 1: Catania
Welcome to Sicily! Independent arrival in Catania (contact us to book a transfer from the airport - extra cost, not included in the price of the tour). Dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 2: Syracuse - Noto - Ragusa
Departure to Syracuse, the most beautiful of the former Greek colonies; continue to the island of Ortigia where you will admire the Cathedral and the beautiful "Fontana Aretusa". Next, you will reach the town of Noto, the capital of Sicilian Baroque, with its stunning Cathedral. After a visit to the center, head to Ragusa for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Ragusa - Modica - Piazza Armerina - Agrigento
The first part of the morning will be dedicated to the visit to Ragusa Ibla, strolling around its picturesque alleys. Then, depart to Modica and visit inside a real chocolate factory to discover the techniques leading to the production of chocolate and have the chance to taste this peculiar chocolate! After a visit to the Palazzo Castro Polara, there will be lunch in a special location, in the shadow of Orti San Giorgio. In the afternoon, depart to Piazza Armerina to visit the Villa Romana del Casale, which houses the largest collection of late-Roman mosaics in the world. Then you will reach Agrigento for dinner and hotel accommodation.
Day 4: Agrigento - Marsala - Salt Route - Palermo
In Agrigento, the first visit will of course be dedicated to the Valley of the Temples, a Greek archaeological site famous for the exceptional state of preservation of its temples. Continue to Marsala for a stop at a winery for a guided tour of the historic Wine Cellars: light lunch with tasting of wines with local food pairings
Heading to Palermo, you will enjoy a panoramic tour of the famous "Salt Road" in Trapani, as you will admire the windmills and the basins for salt picking. Free dinner and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 5: Palermo - Monreale
Depart to Monreale where you will admire the Cathedral and the cloister of the Benedictines. Then visit the center of Palermo, admiring the Cathedral, the Norman Palace, and its superb Palatine Chapel. Enjoy Palermo's street food, one of the most renowned all over the world, while wandering around its historical center. During the day, you will have a stop to enjoy a typical lunch with local food. Admire attractions such as Teatro Massimo and the Fountain of Piazza Pretoria. Dinner on your own and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 6: Cefalù - Catania
On this day you will visit the coastal town of Cefalù, with a walk through the center of the city in which you will admire the medieval washhouse, carved in the rock, and the Cathedral in Arab-Norman style. You will have a stop to have lunch in a famous restaurant. Next, you will move to Catania, where you will enjoy a guided tour to admire the main attractions of the city center, such as the Cathedral and the Elephant Statue or San Benedetto Monastery. There will also be time for a tasty break in a local bar: brioche with granita! Dinner on your own and overnight at the Hotel.
Day 7: Mt. Etna - Taormina
In the morning, after a quick visit to the fish market of Catania, an excursion to Mount Etna to admire the beautiful scenery of the highest active volcano in Europe, from which you can enjoy magnificent views of the Ionian Sea. On the Volcano, we will also stop for a locally produced honey tasting. Then you will have lunch in a lovely restaurant. Then visit Taormina, the small medieval town on the sea called, not surprisingly, the "Pearl of the Ionian Sea". Enjoy some free time for shopping or walking through the streets of the coastal town, and then visit the famous Greek-Roman Theatre. In the end, return to the hotel in Catania for dinner on your own and overnight.
Day 8: Malta
After breakfast, transfer from Taormina to Catania Airport for a flight to reach the beautiful island of Malta, in the southern Mediterranean Sea. Upon arrival, transfer to your Hotel for overnight. Dinner is not included.
Day 9: Cottonera- Marsaxlokk - Blue Grotto
Full-day tour with a private driver: Cottonera - the 3 fortress cities - the Marsaxlokk village, which with its colors and character makes it a perfect scenario for its market and then visit the town of Wied iz-Zurrieq and the Blue Grotto on a boat tour. Admire Dingli cliffs on the way back to the Hotel. Overnight - dinner not included.
Day 10: Malta and Valletta
In the morning half day guided tour to visit Valletta, the capital of Malta, a fortress city with a rich cultural and historical heritage. Here, you will admire the Cathedral of San Giovanni, which houses a beautiful painting by Caravaggio, and the famous Barrakka Gardens. Later, you will visit Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta where you will admire St. Paul's Cathedral. Afternoon at your leisure, dinner not included. Overnight at the Hotel.
Day 11: Malta
The tour ends after breakfast.
