Day 1 - Arrival, Martina Franca
Arrive at your Hotel located near Martina Franca. Check in and head over to Martina Franca for a delectable welcome dinner at Ristorante La Tana, with their dishes dedicated to the Slow Food Presidia of Apulia. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2 - Murgia: Grotte di Castellana, Alberobello, Martina Franca
We strongly recommend a visit to the incredible Grotte di Castellana, sitting at a depth of 70 metres, along more than 1 mile of road. Indulge in a Lunch in Alberobello with local produce and wines at Trattoria La Cantina. After lunch, take a leisure stroll amidst the iconic Trulli and patronise the little stores retailing homemade cheeses and fresh Taralli. Visit Martina Franca and wander around its charming historical town centre, stopping by the Partenope pastry shop in the Corso Italia and sample their signature delights. Return to your hotel and retire for the night.
Day 3 - Murgia: Cisternino, Ostuni
Depart for Cisternino, one of the most gorgeous villages in Italy. Visit its old town centre and drop by the little shops selling Capocollo before stopping for lunch at Taverna della Torre where you will be served with the delights of Capocollo and some other dishes and wines from the Puglia region. Visit the white town of Ostuni. Make a stop at Masseria Ferri to try some of their gourmet cheeses, such as the Caciocavallo, Cacio ricotta and Canestrato. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4 - Lecce, Manduria
After breakfast, visit the lovely Lecce for lunch, nicknamed the ''Baroque Pearl", take a walk around this ancient town and sample some of its fluffy bread, pizzas and the famous Pucce Leccesi (a traditional bread with olives, tomatoes and other vegetables) along the way. In the afternoon proceed to Manduria, the home of Primitivo wine, that you'll taste at the Wine Museum.Retire for the night.
Day 5 - Matera
Head towards Matera for a guided visit of the city of the "Sassi", ancient homes carved right into the rock, about 7000 years old and of of the most extraordinary intact examples of troglodite settlements in the Mediterranean region. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
