Slow Food experience of 3 Days exploring the Amalfi Coast

Day 1 – Sorrento, Bay of Naples

Arrive at your 4 star Hotel in Sorrento and check in. You are free to walk around the wonderful historical centre of Sorrento and explore the long standing history of this important town that overlooks the Bay of Naples.
Venture to the famous 14th century Sorrento Cathedral or take a boat tour on the Bay of Naples from the Marina Grande. Or you can also take a day tour of the ruins of the historic city of Pompeii and there also take in a view of the infamous Mount Vesuvius.
In the evening we will have a traditional dinner with typical local seasonal fresh farm produce at a local, traditional restaurant.
Overnight in Sorrento.

Day 2 – The Amalfi Coast: Amalfi

After having our buffet breakfast at the hotel, we will depart from Sorrento to the coastal city of Amalfi by the Gulf of Salerno; we will arrive at the town’s famous patisserie, Andrea Pansa, to savour the traditional Neapolitan cakes and pastries.
After the scrumptious tasting, there will be free time for you to visit the 9th century Amalfi Cathedral with its precious relics and religious statues of important figures, the 13th century Chiostro del Paradiso – cloister of Amalfi, as well as the heart of Amalfi, Piazza Duomo. Discover the powerful maritime trading history in the Arsenal Maritime Republic and visit the Museum of the first ever traditionally handmade paper in Europe.
We will then visit a local pastry shop where we will taste local specialties, before having some free time for lunch.
In the afternoon we shall make our way to Azienda Agricola Valle dei Mulini, a local distillery. Here we will taste some Limoncello, and we will discover everything about its preparation.
After that, we suggest heading to the amazing town of Ravello, that has been chosen by soome composers like Giuseppe Verdi or Richard Wagner to compose their most famous pieces. From there, you can proceed to Scala, one of the most ancient towns on the Amalfi Coast, and to Vietri sul Mare, where you will admire the famous pottery and ceramics.
Overnight at the hotel.
