Parma is a city famous for it's delicacies and it's culture. Our private full day tour, accompanied by a guide for each visit, will show you the secrets to the production of the food of this region, which is admired and loved all around the world.
Parmigiano Reggiano
The full day tour will start from your Hotel, where we will come to pick you up with a private vehicle. The first stop of the day will be the cheese factory which produces Parmigiano Reggiano. Here, a guide will take you through the whole cycle of the production of this hard cheese, from initial milking through to final processing. This process and the ingredients used has remained largely unchanged since the Medieval ages! After seeing this, you will have the opportunity to taste this cheese with various seasonings, like an expert!
Parma Ham and lunch
The next stop will be a factory producing Parma Ham, another very well known food product of Emilia region. Here, you will discover the well guarded secrets in the production of Prosciutto di Parma. The local expert will explain you the stages of the production and seasoning and then it will be time to taste Prosciutto! The intense flavors and fragrances of this delicacy is unique in the world and will amaze you.
Lunch in a typical trattoria
After this visit you will then be taken to an old trattoria to indulge in a traditional lunch of local products, from ham and cheeses to excellent local wine! As alternative, depending on the availability, there will be the chance to have lunch inside the ham factory. After this delicious lunch you will then be taken back to Bologna, with drop off at your Hotel.
