You will meet your tour leader at the hotel in Catania on the first day and then you will be ready to start your vacation through Syracuse, Ragusa, Agrigento, and much more, to end the tour in Palermo on day 6.
Day 1: Catania
Prepare for one of the most exciting adventures on the marvelous island of Sicily: this group tour from Catania to Palermo will be a great eXPerience to discover the best that this destination has to offer. Arrive independently at the hotel in the charming city of Catania (contact us for an optional private transfer from the airport). In the evening you will meet your tour leader and your travel companions. Dinner at your leisure and overnight in hotel.
Day 2: Syracuse - Noto - Ragusa
Following breakfast, you will begin the day with a tour of Syracuse and its ancient Greek treasures. You will visit the ancient Greek city of Neapolis, today a vast and fascinating archaeological park, where you can discover a piece of history that is beautifully preserved, along with the Greek Theatre and the Roman Amphiteatre.
You will then visit the small historic centre of Syracuse, which is the small island of Ortigia, where you will have the chance to stroll around the elegant alleys. After free time for lunch (NOT included), your tour of Sicily will continue with a visit of Noto town, world-famous for its amazing architecture, especially the Arab - Normann Cathedral, that can best be admired in the town center. Then you will visit Palazzo Nicolaci Villadorata, beautiful noble residence in Baroque style before leaving. Transfer to Ragusa for dinner at your leisure and overnight.
Day 3: Ragusa - Modica - Piazza Armerina
After breakfast, start your third day with a visit of Ragusa Ibla, one of the most beautiful baroque towns on the island and an UNESCO site. The town hosts more than 50 churches and many ancient buildings with baroque architecture. The next destination of the day will be the splendid city of Modica, UNESCO heritage site, where it si mandatory to visit (and taste) one of the most famous chocolate factory of the town! There will also be time to stroll around the centre and to admire masterpieces such as the majestic Palazzo Castro Polara Grimaldi. After the visit, you will enjoy a tasting of local products. A breathtaking panorama will be the setting of your relaxing lunch! The evening will be dedicated to a tour of Piazza Armerina, a nice charming village, where you will visit Villa Romana del Casale, world-famous for its impressive Roman mosaics. Transfer to Agrigento for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Agrigento - Marsala - Salt Road
After breakfast, your gorgeous trip to Sicily will continue with Agrigento and the Valley of the Temples area, the ruins of ancient Akragas. After that, transfer to the colorful town of Marsala where you will visit a famous wine cellar (wine tasting and light lunch will be included) and then a trip along the Marsala Salt Road, admiring the salt mines and windmills, and the Stagnone Island. Transfer to Palermo for dinner at your leisure and accommodation in hotel.
Day 5: Monreale-Palermo
After breakfast, you will move towards Monreale, to have a tour of its huge Arab-Norman Cathedral, famous all over the world and part of Unesco Heritage. Later on, return to Palermo to have a proper visit to this fantastic city. Walking around the city center, you will feel the charm of the architecture that has been influenced by many cultures in the past: join the amazing Martorana Church to the Cappella Palatina.
During the day, you will have a stop to enjoy a typical lunch with local food. Then, take the chance to keep exploring the city center on your own, with the Teatro Massimo and the Fountain in Pretoria Square. Dinner on your own and overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Palermo
After breakfast, end of the tour (contact us for an optional private transfer to the airport).
