5-Days guided program departing from Milan to Switzerland
Day 1: Milan
Independent arrival at the hotel in Milan. Initial briefing with our tour leader in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 2: Milan, Bellinzona, Liechtenstein, Zurich
American buffet breakfast at the hotel. Liaison with your tour leader and at around 08.00 depart by coach for an action-packed and spectacular day. Our first port of call is the Swiss town of Bellinzona with its imposing castle, one of the finest examples of military defence buildings in this area.
Then, we move to the Principality of Liechtenstein, one of the Europe's smallest countries, and the sixth smallest in the entire world. We arrive at Vaduz city and capital of the Principality, located near the right bank of the River Rhine and home to the castle of the reigning prince. The buildings are largely from the sixteenth century, with construction taking place on a hill overlooking the city. Even though the castle is not open to the public, the climb to the top for a closer view is well worth the effort.
Afterwards, we continue on to Zurich, where we will spend the night in our hotel.
Day 3: Zurich
After breakfast, enjoy a half day tour of the the city, which is located at the north end of Lake Zurich in northern Switzerland; a global centre for banking and finance. We will visit the Baroque Rathaus (town hall), the Grossmünster and Fraumünster, Zurich's most outstanding churches, as well as other temples, such as the oldest church in the city, St Peterskirche, renowned for having the largest clock in Europe.
In the afternoon, there is the possibility of an optional excursion to the breath-taking waterfalls Rhein Fall, better known as the Reno Cascades. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4: Zurich, Lucerne, Lugano, Milan
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Lucerne, regional capital of the Lucerne Canton. The city stands on the banks of Lake Lucerne and close to the Pilatus and Rigi mountains in the Swiss Alps. Lucerne is considered the most touristic city in Switzerland. Its standout monuments such as the Chapel Bridge is a must for sightseers.
The tour then moves on to the city of Lugano, known for its famous lake, where will stop to take panoramic photographs and have free time for lunch. From there we will return to Milan for a well earned rest in out hotel.
Day 5: Milan
Breakfast at the hotel (end of our services).
