Description:

An afternoon city tour among art, landscapes and the most beautiful paintings in the world.

An half day tour to discover some of the most beautiful attractions of Florence

Untill 28th February 2019 this tour begins with a pleasant drive through the scenic, peaceful, and tree-lined roads of Florence to the Etruscan-Roman village of Fiesole, perhaps best known for its incredible views and gorgeous sunsets over the Arno River Valley.
Heading back to Florence, the tour then proceeds on foot – the first stop is the famous Lungarno, visited before the tour arrives at the Basilica of Santa Croce and its historic Square. You will spend some time admiring the various buildings in the area and then visit the heart of Florentine civic life during the Renaissance: the Piazza della Signoria.

A walking tour to explore the best of Florence

From 1st March 2019 this tour will not include the visit of Fiesole. The first part of the tour is devoted to the heart of Florence, its historic centre and its wonderful squares and landmarks: it will start with a walking tour led by a local guide who will unveil every corner of the cradle of the Renaissance. From Piazza San Firenze you will arrive in Piazza Santa Croce, where from the outside you will admire the stunning Basilica di Santa Croce standing in the namesake historic Square. Discover the famous Lungarno Torrigiani and then Piazza Santa Felicita, where you will have the possibility to visit Santa Felicita church (please note that on Sundays, public holidays and in case of religious celebrations, the access to the Church will not be possible; since admission is free, the refund will not be applied). Then you will reach Piazza della Signoria, the unique heart of the city's social life, to admire the imposing architecture of Palazzo Vecchio and the famous statues of Loggia de' Lanzi. Then, discover one of the symbols of Florence, the majestic Ponte Vecchio: learn about its incredible history and how it has been spared from the bombings during World War II.

Admire Palazzo Vecchio and visit the Uffizi Gallery, one of the most famous museums in the world

The tour finishes inside the Uffizi Gallery, where you can stand and admire the some of the unique Renaissance masterpieces of the great Italian artists, such as Botticelli's Birth of Venus, Leonardo's Annunciation and Michelangelo's Tondo Doni, etc. At the end of the guided tour, you can remain in the Uffizi Gallery until closing time.

Fantastic

There were only 3 couples In my group. 1 from the USA me from the UK and the other couple were Spanish. Our tour guide Angels was amazing. She changed from Italian (her native tounge) to English to Spanish and was fluent in each language. Easily understandable and seemed to have a genuine enthusiasm for her work and explaining all of the interesting things we saw in great detail. The tour went through Florence city on a mini bus where we saw the medieval gates. Up to Michelangelo's Hill. We got off the bus for half an hour to look at the amazing view over the city. Pictures were taken. On the far left hand side you can even see a big stretch of the medieval wall still standing! Then I t was back on the bus to the centre where we walked around having lots of important and interesting sights history explained to us. We passed the churches and cathedrals and finished the day at the academia Galleria to see the statue of David. Lots of art work was explained to us with the techniques used and we were given a brief history of Michelangelo. Very, very interesting. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Walking tour of Michelangelo's David

We had an excellent walking tour of Michelangelo's David and a surprising bus tour to the top of the city. The view was amazing and was worth the cost of the tour if you only did the bus tour. Our guide was the best! Her name is Eleonora and she was extremely knowledgeable about her beautiful city and very passionate about what she does. She speaks, Italian, English, Spanish perfectly and even a little French. If you take the tour you won't be disappointed and if you have Eleonora as your guide, then sit back and relax for the perfect tour.

Excellent tours worth spending money on.

Good value for money...since we booked 2 tours, we had a discount and had a free florence afternoon walking tour and drink (though it had to be cancelled due to bad weather). They offered tours that matched our to-do-list whilst in Florence and we really enjoyed every bit of the tour. Group size was perfect, tour leaders were really helpful and friendly, tour guides in localities visited really explained well, time well spent and followed. Really recommend!
