Private Excursion to Tivoli, departing from Rome by car or minivan

There is a small, hilltop town located just outside of Rome named Tivoli, that is home to more than its fair share of wonders. It hosts both the Villa Adriana (a truly palatial estate more popularly known as Hadrian's Villa) and the Villa d'Este, a stunning example of Renaissance art and architecture that attempted to build on and improve what the Romans had left behind, with stunning results.

A private tour to visit Tivoli and its impressive Villa d'Este

Absorb nearly two thousand years of history in one afternoon as you begin thousands of years in the past, in the glory days of Ancient Rome. You will learn a lot thanks to your professional and private guide (at disposal for a total of 6 hours).
When Hadrian ruled, the Roman Empire stretched from Brittania in the Northwest, to Africa in the South, and Greece in the East. Hadrian's personal villa is a reflection of the Empire at the time, and is equally impressive in scope.

Visit Hadrian's Villa, a magnificent Roman villa

The Villa d'Este is no less a wonder than Hadrian's Villa. Surrounded on three sides by a 16th century courtyard and build on the site of a former Benedictine cloister, the Villa d'Este is one of the most striking examples of Renaissance architecture, including the famous Italian Renaissance garden.
At the end of the tour, you will return to Rome.

Wonderful day in Tivoli!

My 15 year old daughter, husband and I enjoyed a fantastic tour of the gardens in Tivoli with fellow American tour guide, Katie! She was warm and friendly and incredibly knowledgeable and made our day there really memorable! In addition, she recommended a fantastic restaurant for lunch after the tour. We had a private car and driver and the 45 min trip outside the city was well worth it… one of the best tours we have ever taken. I highly recommend this tour for a first class experience away from the crowds!

Excellent Tours of Rome!

This was my second trip to Rome, the first with my friends and this trip with my husband. We took several private tours on my first trip, but the quality of the guides from these tours far exceeded the previous tours that I experienced 5 years ago. Marco and Katie were both fabulous. The depth of their knowledge and their passion for Roman history was genuine. Marco (aka "the George Clooney of Rome") took us on tours of the Vatican and the Coliseum. We thoroughly enjoyed both and there wasn't a question that Marco couldn't answer. Katie, an American, took us to Villa Adriana and Villa d'Este, both about 20 miles from Rome in Tivoli. This tour is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. The ruins of Hadrian's estate from the third century were just so amazing. Villa d'Este, the renaissance era estate of Cardinal Ippolito Este was spectacular. Katie is an amazing scholar who teaches history in Rome and also works as a guide. We went on this tour on the recommendation from Valentina at our hotel (Campo de Fiori) and we are so glad that we did. Those guides were Story Tellers... and their vast knowledge enriched us immensely. Grazie Molto Marco and Katie!
