From Rome you will travel to Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri. Once in Palermo by ferry, continue to Marsala, Erice, Agrigento, Noto, Siracusa, Catania and Taormina.
This is your expected day of arrival to Rome. Find your way to your hotel where you will be spending the night.
Enjoy your breakfast and depart by coach at 7 a.m. to travel via the regions of Campania and Lazio to Naples. You will visit Vomero hill to catch sight of the beautiful views of the Gulf of Naples and the ruins of Pompei, then drive to the Sorrentine Coast. You will have dinner at Sorrento and stay overnight in a new hotel.
After breakfast, take an excursion to Capri and enjoy the beautiful sights of the Blue Grotto, depending on the weather or sea conditions when you take a small rowboat. Then, have lunch at a local eatery and then explore the island leisurely. Afterward, return to the mainland and your hotel for the night.
After enjoying breakfast at your hotel, you will have the chance to explore more of the city of Sorrento and reach the Port of Naples by afternoon. You will get on board the Tirrenia/Shav Ferry to Palermo and spend the night on the boat. Take note that dinner and breakfast will not be served on board.
After arriving Palermo, get to your hotel to enjoy dinner and a good night's sleep.
After breakfast, go on the morning excursion to Monreale where you can visit the magnificent Cathedral of Monreale. Then head back to Palermo for a walking tour of the ancient city. You will have some free time in the afternoon to do whatever you have in mind to do and spend the night at your hotel.
Enjoy an early breakfast at your hotel and head out to Erice, which is an ancient village located on the side of Monte San Giuliano. After exploring the village by foot, head south to Agrigento where you will be visiting Greek monuments and ruins at the Valley of Temples. You will spend the night here.
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and move off to Noto, a traditional fishing village where you will find the renovated Cathedral of San Nicolo. Then, head off to Syracuse where you will find ancient landmarks such as the Roman Amphitheater. A visit to Ortygia will be enlightening as you will get to see old churches and palaces. Then, return to Taormina to your hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, you will take a trip to Mount Etna, the highest mountain in Italy as well as the largest active volcano in Europe. If the weather permits, you could climb to its crest. Then return to Taormina to enjoy your day leisurely.
Enjoy breakfast and take a trip to Savoca and Forza D'Agro. Walk through the Roman ruins and other landmarks, and then head for Catania. You will have dinner at the hotel and stay the night.
