Full Day Tour to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius, departing from Sorrento

Depart from Sorrento for an extraordinary tour: in a single day you will visit Pompeii and the Vesuvius, just the volcano that destroyed the ancient Roman town with the eruption of 79 AD. It is an exciting excursion not to be missed, sick into both history and uncontaminated nature.

Departure by bus from Sorrento for an exciting day trip
Discover the ruins of Pompeii, perfectly preserved over the centuries
Visit a workshop of fine cameos and corals, with shopping possibilities
Explore the nature trails that go up along the top of Vesuvius
Reach the crater and admire the breathtaking views of the Gulf of Naples

An exciting day trip, leaving from Sorrento to visit two of the most beautiful and interesting tourist places in Campania: the archaeological site of Pompeii and the Mount Vesuvius, the volcano that in 79 AD destroyed several towns (including precisely Pompeii) with its eruption.

Visit the ruins of Pompeii departing from Sorrento by bus

With our transfer service, included in the tour, you will start from Sorrento by bus to Pompeii: here you will meet your professional guide who will take you to explore the remains of the ancient Roman town, beautifully preserved over the centuries thanks to the volcanic materials that submerged it up 10 meters.
Visiting private homes, markets, baths and the main buildings of Pompeii you will have the opportunity to make a real journey through time, in a place where everything stopped at that catastrophic morning in 79 AD.

Visit a workshop of cameos and coral

After the guided tour of Pompeii’s excavations, you will visit a renowned laboratory of cameos and coral, where you can see the manufacturing process of the artisans, and buy their products.
After the tour, you will go to a local restaurant, not far from the lab, where you can have lunch with local products of high quality.

Visit the park of Vesuvius up to its top

After lunch, you will reach the park of Vesuvius, where you will meet your guide who will accompany you along a breathtaking nature trail. Going up the Vesuvius, surrounded by greenery and unspoiled air, you will reach the top of the imposing volcano, where you can admire the enormous crater and terrific views of the Gulf of Naples.
At the end of the excursion, you will come back to Sorrento by bus.

The tour of Pompeii

Great day all around. Lia, our guide was very informative and did a great job of keeping our group together. The trip up Vesuvius was marred by the lack of any comfortable and adequate facilities at the bus stop-off point. It could be much better and I realize it is not your responsibility - but the tourism bureau for that area should be looking into it. I work in the tourism industry and there is potential for much better impressions.

Pompeii & Vesuvius day trip

I booked online before we went... A lot cheaper if you do this as it is really expensive if you book In Italy. Our guide Maria, Italian but spoke very good English, treated everyone with a relaxed and friendly attitude... First class! We went to Mount Vesuvius first walked to the top looked into the creator.. Fantastic! Then we drove to Pompeii and had lunch, after we were guided around pompeii via a intercom lead by maria, to view the entire place it takes two days, Maria took us to the main places.. it was brilliant, our guide Maris knows her stuff. Brilliant day out, well worth the money, super guide! Thank you!

Great personality!

This was a fantastic excursion. Our tour guide Francesco was absolutely brilliant and had the group laughing all day. Very funny guy and really entertaining. Not only that but his English was excellent and his knowledge of all things Pompei/Vesuvius related was extremely helpful. I must also give a big shout out to our driver Ferdinando. An established driver which is what is needed on these ever winding roads and a very pleasant one to boot!! The trip itself was amazing and definitely worth doing. Being at the top of mount Vesuvius is a fantastic sight to behold and Pompei is just as Francesco said "like being transported back in time" If thinking of doing this tour, this is the company to book with and I only hope you get Francesco. Very funny guy!!!!

Great day out

We had a great day visiting Pompei and Vesuvius with Hugo and Eustace and everyone was on time and Hugo our guide was very funny and made a hot sticky day fun. We did two hours in Pompei and with Hugo's experience managed to miss the crowds although we couldn't see every thing. Worth the money to take a guide and we are glad we did. As for the guide having and accent that is no surprise if you are in Italy!
