A really good experience all round. Thank you!
Do not miss this extraordinary excursion departing from Sorrento: in one day you will visit two of the most important archaeological sites in the world: Pompeii and Herculaneum, two ancient Roman cities that suffered the same tragic fate, destroyed by the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Experience a real journey into the past with our day tour, leaving from Sorrento discovering two ancient Roman towns: Pompeii and Herculaneum, both perfectly preserved thanks to the volcanic materials that submerged them during the eruption in 79 AD.
Thanks to the bus transfer service, included in the tour, you will leave from Sorrento to Pompeii, where you will meet your guide who will accompany you on an unforgettable excursion: walking among the ruins of the city you can discover the old houses and the most important buildings.
A picturesque walk in a magic place, where everything seems to be suspended in time from that awful morning in 79 AD when Vesuvius erupted, destroying the city.
At the end of Pompeii’s tour, you will visit a typical laboratory of cameo and coral, where you can admire the ancient art of craftsmen, with the possibility to buy the products.
Later on, you will go for lunch in a traditional restaurant, not far from the lab, where you can get samples of excellent local products.
After lunch, you will leave onboard the bus to reach the ruins of Herculaneum, another Roman town that, just like the nearby Pompeii, was submerged by the eruption of Vesuvius, but thanks to the volcanic materials, the town is still remained intact till this days.
Exploring the ruins of Herculaneum with the audio-guide (included in the tour) you can relive the history of this ancient Roman city, and visit its impressive buildings, adorned with ancient frescoes and mosaics.
At the end of the excursion you will come back to Sorrento by bus.
Meeting point information and local telephone numbers at your destination are included on your Confirmation Voucher.
